ONGOING PROJECTS

CAMPUS COMMUNITY GARDEN PROJECT
The Campus Community Garden Project (CCGP) is well under way, with the first harvests ready for picking. New members are always welcome. Contact Rita at haaser@uwindsor.ca for more information, or join their Facebook Group.

FOOD ADVISORY WORKING GROUP
This group is working to build a local network around food security, and develop a food charter for our region. They meet regularly and are looking for new members to help with this project. Contact Lynne Phillips at lynnep@uwindsor.ca for more information.

COMMUNITY GARDEN for WEST WINDSOR
The Windsor Essex Community Health Centre (WECHC), formerly Sandwich Community Health Centre, has a half acre communal and private plots garden fully running at the corner of Prince and King (3735 King St.). This year, the Community Garden for West Windsor received a $10,000 grant from the Walmart Evergreen Green Grant to help with the operating costs of the garden. Members of the community are invited to come and adopt a row for the Grow and Row for Hungry project. ONLINE LOCAL FOOD MAPPING
This project will potentially have multiple layers representing various aspects of food production, distribution, and consumption in the Windsor area. This will also have an interactive component, linking up people with various kinds of resources in order to grow more gardens. Please contact Jamey at jsessex@gmail.com

GARDEN MOBILIZATION WORKSHOP SERIES & RESOURCE PACKAGE
Jennie Lozon is taking the lead on this project. She'll first be assessing the questions and concerns of local people interested in starting gardens, and help address these questions by designing and hosting various workshops and compiling a resources package, adjusting as new concerns come to light. She is soliciting help, especially for the initial phase; please contact her at jolliejenniebean@gmail.com for more information or to offer assistance.

HERB GARDEN VISITS
Lucette has been gardening and using herbs for several decades. She is forwarding an open invitation to anyone who would like to visit her gardens. She also gives away seedlings from her herb plants in the spring. Please contact her at chiass2@yahoo.ca for more information or to set up a garden visit.

THIBERT FARM HOME DELIVERY

FedUp! Windsor wins an Enviro-Achiever Award

Last night, the Citizens Environment Alliance held their yearly awards celebration at Rock Bottom Bar & Grill. FedUp Windsor was one of two recipients of the Enviro-Achiever Award, which recognizes organizations and individuals who are making significant contributions to environmental health and sustainability. Ecohouse garden planted, almost

In accordance with 'three sisters' philosophy, we formed our corn & bean mounds this past Saturday, and the corn was planted. In the next few weeks, we'll plant the beans and squash, and hopefully the three sisters will flourish in each others company. The day was hot and sunny, the weeding difficult (those weeds are persistent), and the lunch break well appreciated. The ground at the Ecohouse has got to love us by now!

3rd FedUp Prep Day, the fun continues

This past Saturday, April 26th, 14 people showed up to help prepare the grounds for our Iris House garden site, including our two youngest members, Maya and Serena (3.5 & 1.5). We were so busy having fun playing in the dirt that we forgot to pull our cameras out.

Please join us at our next work party: planting and other garden activities at our Moy St. garden, May 10th, 12 pm to 5 pm.

Welcome to FedUp Online

Greetings. Thanks for checking us out. For anyone that got confused about the canceled work party last Saturday, we're working to improve our communication systems. Look to this site for the most current information about events, work parties, meetings, etc. You can also subscribe to our updates email list to receive current information. If you're on Facebook, you can also join the FedUp Windsor group. Now that spring is here, let's get back into the dirt and start growing!

* Efforts to encourage popular, community education and knowledge that is transformative and committed to political and social change in favor of greater justice, democracy, and equity.

* Approaches to achieving our goals that are participatory and democratic, and which actively challenge oppression based on race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, ability and age.
